This Swiss Chicken Casserole is creamy, cheesy, and full of comforting flavors. With tender chicken, Swiss cheese, and a crispy, buttery topping, it’s the perfect easy dinner recipe.

 

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 6 slices Swiss cheese
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup seasoned stuffing mix (or crushed Ritz crackers)
  • ¼ cup butter, melted
 

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  • Place chicken breasts in the dish and season with garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.
  • Layer Swiss cheese slices over the chicken.
  • Mix cream of chicken soup and sour cream in a bowl, then spread over the cheese.
  • Sprinkle stuffing mix (or crushed Ritz crackers) evenly on top.
  • Drizzle melted butter over the topping.
  • Bake uncovered for 40-45 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through (internal temp 165°F/75°C) and the topping is golden brown.
  • Let it rest for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Substitute Provolone or Mozzarella for Swiss cheese if preferred.
  • Add a splash of white wine or chicken broth for extra depth of flavor.
  • Make ahead: Assemble the dish and refrigerate up to 24 hours before baking.
