Description

This copycat Popeyes Mardi Gras Mustard sauce is bold, tangy, creamy, and takes just 5 minutes to make. Itโ€™s the perfect dipping sauce with Cajun spice and a hint of sweetness.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/4 cup whole grain mustard
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon prepared horseradish
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cajun or Creole seasoning
  • Pinch of garlic powder
  • Optional: pinch of cayenne or paprika for heat
  • Optional: 1/2 teaspoon honey for sweetness

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, Cajun seasoning, and garlic powder.
  2. Add whole grain mustard and mayonnaise, then stir until well mixed.
  3. Add horseradish and mix thoroughly.
  4. Add optional cayenne/paprika or honey to taste if desired.
  5. Chill in the refrigerator for 15โ€“30 minutes to let the flavors develop.
  6. Serve as a dip or spread.

Notes

Letting the sauce chill helps the flavors meld. You can adjust sweetness and spice levels to your taste. For a smoother texture, use Dijon mustard instead of whole grain.
