Ingredients

  • 3 cups bread flour
  • 2 tbsp matcha powder
  • 2 1/4 tsp instant yeast
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup warm milk
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, softened

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together bread flour, matcha powder, sugar, and salt.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix warm milk and yeast; let sit for 5 minutes.
  3. Add the yeast mixture, egg, and softened butter to the dry ingredients.
  4. Knead the dough for 10-15 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1-2 hours until doubled.
  6. Punch down the dough, shape it into a loaf or rolls, and place it in a baking pan.
  7. Cover and let it rise again for 30-45 minutes.
  8. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Let cool before slicing and serving.
