- 1 lb raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 tbsp unsalted butter
- 2 tsp minced garlic
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 2 tbsp soy sauce (or tamari)
- 2 tbsp mirin (or dry sherry/rice vinegar)
- ¼ tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Pat shrimp dry with a paper towel.
- In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, sesame oil, mirin, and black pepper.
- Heat skillet or griddle over medium-high heat.
- Melt butter and sauté garlic for 30 seconds.
- Add shrimp and coat with butter.
- Pour in sauce and toss to glaze.
- Sauté for 4–5 minutes until shrimp turn pink and curl into a “C”.
- Serve hot with hibachi veggies or steak.
Notes
Avoid overcrowding the pan to ensure a good sear. Use tamari for a gluten-free version and adjust the heat level with chili flakes or sriracha if desired.
